What is eIDAS?
eIDAS (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014) is the European Union regulation on electronic identification and trust services. It defines a legal framework for electronic signatures and recognizes three tiers: Simple Electronic Signatures (SES), Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES), and Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES).
An Advanced Electronic Signature must meet four criteria: it is uniquely linked to the signer, capable of identifying the signer, created using data the signer can use under their sole control, and linked to the signed data such that any later change is detectable.
